like how to be a freelance journalist, or a freelance writer of any sort. or hell, even how to become a writer for a a website, or magazine. I love writing articles and editorials, I just don't know where to start making money on it

I am a freelance writer.
Look into magazines, online publications and other medias that you like to read. Ask for their writer's guidelines (for online publications you can find them online normally).
Then get to writing and submitting.

I should also add that many, but not all, publications accept submissions/queries via e-mail. Very convenient, but you still have to be very professional.
Join a writers forum. Also helpful.
Also, if you are going to submit via e-mail which is likely, you want a somewhat professional e-mail address. It can be free, from yahoo or hotmail etc, but using a name like "hotdude" or "soccergal" shows how unprofessional you are. You don't have to use your full name, but you can. Or use your first initial and last name or first name and last initial. You get the idea.

Go to the Library and look through the current Writer's Market catalog.

Ask at local book stores, the library, or local colleges for information on critique groups, writer's workshops, writer's clubs, and non-credit writing classes in your community.
