f ( 2 ) = 4 + 14 + 3 = 21

all it means is to put the value 2 wherever there is an 'x' in the equation then do the calculations, so

2^2 + 7*2 + 3 = 4 + 14 + 3 = 21

If you tell me I'm wrong, you posted the problem wrong.

Plug in 2 for every x and evaluate

2^2 = 7

7(2) = 14

3 = 3

7 + 14 + 3 = 24

Answer : 24
