In January I decided to quit my job (of 6 yrs- 5 in sales 1 in managment) as Operations Manager to pursue a degree in Education. The responsabilities of the job were a lot and the pay was not that great. I have two young boys (2 and 5) and wanted to be home with them. I enjoyed woring there but was unhappy w/ the pay. After I quit very few people kept in touch. There was one girl who I would talk to which I confided in her my real reasons for quitting the $$$ I gave my boss the excuse of me wanting to be a stay at home mom.( I never told him I was unhappy w/ the pay). This girl called me today to tell me that my position was offered to her and she accepted. I was hurt and sad. why???? I do not understand why. I am now a full time student and happy. Why did her news affect me so much?? Is it that I want the job back or what?

I have gone thru the same thing. I worked in Billing at a major Trucking Company. I quit for other reasons. But when I see other people I use to work with I feel some what sad.

I feel like I left things unresolved when I left.
I didn't get closure from the issues that haunted me when I worked there.

It could be that you feel the same way.
We all like to feel that we are not replaceable. That we alone was the one that could do that job the best.
So a bit of jealousy comes over us when we see that someone else took our old position.

This feeling will pass. You have moved on to more exciting and better things in life.

Enjoy, faith
