Actors like Al Pachino and Sean Connery are good, but they can only play certain characters.

How about Patrick Stewart? He can do Shakespeare, he can also play comic book characters and science fiction. The Star Trek actors have to do just about anything over the course of the series: action, comedy, drama, romance et al.

ed' o neill from "married with children" seems like a good actor.
