what IS chemistry? WHY is it so important?

Just pick up virtually any object and chances are you would not have been able to have it without some kind of chemistry. Anything that is man made is certainly made using chemistry. And even natural items like rocks, wood, bone, leather, food, and anything else that even cave people had was formed in a chemical process, although not in any way controlled by humans. Chemistry is everywhere.

The sincerity of this question is questionable...but here is what Merriam Webster says:

Chemistry is important because we are surrounded by the processes and products of chemistry. Even if you take it for granted, chemistry profoundly effect all of our lives. Look around and you'll see the results of chemistry. The water you drink, tires on your car, the clothes you wear, the paint on the walls, and the batteries in your electronic device are all either made better or entirely here because of chemistry. |: )

Ok first of all, chemistry is to help you make medicines, things for your life, other people and other things. If you go to school or college ask a teacher or a profesor, or somebody who you think might know. Or just look it up on the internet like go to google.com and type in what you just asked. For sure chemistry has to be important in life, even though some people might think it's scary. But don't worry about it. Chemistrys a good thing.
