Because of the flash of the camera. It always happens.

This happens when you are looking directly at the camera lens. The light from the flash reflects off your blood-rich retina and boom... red-eye.

Fix this by not looking directly into the lens. Just a few degrees away from the lens will prevent red-eye yet you will still appear to be looking at the camera.

it's because you are looking into the lens. it's something about the flash reflecting in your pupils t make them look red. try looking right next to the camera, it should help. it's what i do.

It's called red reflex - just means the lenses in your eyes are clear - i.e., you don't have cataracts.
It's one of the things pediaticians check first.

I'm pretty sure its because of the reflection of the flash in your iris... or it could be the lighting, or maybe both... i could be wrong though, but thats what i really think it is
