If you have read my previous questions, I had problems yesterday and the day before with lower abdominal & pelvic pain as well as vaginal bleeding. I had a hysterectomy 6 months ago, and EVERYTHING was removed. I was told today that I had a vaginyl polyp that formed where the incision was made. However, I was also told that I should not be in any pain. I am in severe pain & taking Oxycodone (Percoset). I am trying to get in touch with the surgeon who performed my hysterectomy. But, is there any reason for me to be in such pain? Was the other OBGYN, that I saw today, wrong?

cranberry juice helps BLADDER problems....not vaginal problems. This isn't a urinary tract infection.

Bless your heart! It must be very scary knowing something is going on down there when you KNOW you've had the vital parts removed. How long ago was your surgery?

Keep calling the doctor's office and bugging them to no end. Tell the nurse you are in severe pain. If need be, go to the office and request to be seen and let the doctor see that you are in pain.

I don't know what could be causing the pain unless where the incision was sewn and the polyp is has started to separate - causing the bleeding.

If your symptoms stay like they are and you can't get your doctor to do anything, go to the ER, tell them your pain is a 10/10 and they will treat you, get an OB/GYN down there to see what is going on.

Hope you feel better soon.

ok... So I don't know why you had the hysterectomy, but I'll assume that it was for quite serious reasons.

As you already must know, a polyp is a kind of tumor. Basically, there is no reason for one to form at the site of a scar. My guess is that it or its start point was left behind when they took the stuff out, and for some reason, it stimulated its growth. Either this or something went horribly wrong with your op.

Either way, get tests, scans etc till you can be perfectly sure of what the problem is and get it treated ASAP. The very fact you're in pain while the normal result of the operation should not have entailed any is a bad sign in and of itself. Get the matter seen to and corrected. Best of luck.

So basically, What Ripsgracie said.
