Cute is usually a word used by girls - its not a very manly word but a girl calling a man this word is a good sign.
Cute can mean:
- You're good looking.
- You're little and cuddly (which isn't good)
- A simple way of saying she likes you and the way you act.

"Cute" is a compliment. It can have a variety of meanings, and I don't know which one was meant for you.
If it was a female who called you cute, I would translate it as "cool" in the male language.
"Cute" generally suggests attractiveness that is friendly and not threatening.
Of course if the person was being snide or snotty about it, it wasn't a real compliment.

Yes. Cute, I think, is a lot better than hot/sexy/beautiful/pretty/etc. Cute refers to all aspects including your personality (which is important and it's nice when someone recognizes it). Like I prefer cute guys to hot guys because I find them sweeter, less cocky, and they are all-mine. I don't know. I think it's a great compliment.

If it feel like flattering, its a compliment, but if it feel like hurting, it's an insult. Depends upon the recipient really

yes being called cute is a compliment...some people dont use the words "hot" or "fine"...i mean you could say stuff like "damn you are soooooooo cute!"

To me being called cute reminds me of what a guy-friend would call me..someone like a brother to me...
lol...
But, I don't know..when I call my boyfriend cute it's not in a sisterly way...so I'd say so. lol
