Who here thinks the moon landing was real and was fake

I Sorta think its fake, because how come we weren't able to get back to the moon in 36 years technoligy has grow we should be up there everyday or what ever

i am going to become an astronaut or train for it make my own shuttle tr to land on the moon and find out for myself i really wanna know its rediculous

Showing your ignorance, and dishonoring the three Apollo Astronauts to die in pursuit of one of mankinds greatest feats.

shameful

Quinters, get this straight and don't be foolish about it any more, okay? The basic technology required for a manned flight to the moon was developed in Germany in the late 1930s through the mid 1940s. This technology needed a lot of refinement to make a safe manned flight a reality.

We worked on that technology through the 1950s and 60s, and made the first manned moon flight in 1969. It all fits together, and if you read all the history and don't let the wackos lie to you, it will be impossible for you to continue to be fooled into believing that the moon missions did not take place.

The American people were much better educated and more intelligent in the 1960s and 70s than they are now, and it would never have occurred to NASA engineers and managers that 35 years later a bunch of ignorant dolts with nothing to do would come up with a stupid conspiracy theory stating that the moon landings were faked.

If that had occurred to them, I suspect the engineers would have gone to the trouble to create a larger and more visible object of proof, to compensate for the decline in the quality of the American mind and its education that occurred during and after the Reagan presidency.

But there is a real physical proof available. The astronauts who landed on the moon left behind reflectors that are used every day by astronomers to measure the irregularities of the moon's orbit. This is done by bouncing laser beams off reflectors at known locations that were left by the astronauts. Ask your science teacher for information about these experiments. You can arrange to see this done with your own eyes.

Let me put the question to you this way: If you think the moon landings were faked, when did they become "fake?" When did the idea become popular that NASA had invented the idea of an imaginary moon mission and created a huge technological empire to fool people? When was all this fakery done? In the 60s? 70s? 80s?

And why? What was the point? And how did they fool all the people that reported the news, operated the machinery, built the moon rockets, and watched them take off and land?

Do you realize that one American in 500 was a part of the Apollo program? Millions of them are still alive. Are they fooling you? Why? If you go out to a football game, look around you. In the stadium there are people who worked on the Apollo program.

Ask around. You are surrounded by people who know for sure that American astronauts stood on the moon more than 35 years ago.

you can't become an astronaut because you wanna prove NASA wrong. plus you would have to pay millions to go up. IT was real it really happened. we actually have been up there since the '69 moon landing. now another question for you... why would we want to go back up? we can't build anything on the moon, it would be too expensive to make a large structure ON THE GROUND the keeps in air. the moon has no water, no gold, no silver, no minerals.... just rocks. lots and lots of rocks. we have plenty of rocks here on Earth.

LOGICAL STANDPOINT: why would we fake a landing like that? HOW? look closely at the videos, and it shows you how fine the moon dirt is. in an atmosphere, that dust would billow up everywhere it was disturbed. look again at the video, and the dust falls up and back down in a perfect parabolic arch. what on Earth (pardon the pun) would have that effect? being so fine yet having properties like that? "well maybe," you might wonder, "the studio that they filmed it in was a complete vacuum." we don't even have the technology TODAY to make a full sized studio with complete vacuum. we can't even make complete vacuum period!

we can't go up there every day, because it would be very expensive, and as stated, would have no point. oh certainly we COULD go up to the moon again. but no reason for it. also, to any moron that says "well why can't I see the landing site with my telescope huh??"... all I have to say is that I'm glad you aren't running our country. the moon rover was 5 feet long (about) and the lander, let's say, was 30 feet across. the moons diameter is 3,472 kilometers. the moon averages 384401 kilometers from the earth. do you realize how amazing it would be to see such small objects on such a large object so far away?

we have been on the moon, stop listening to those morons, and stop spreading the lies. please show your answers to anyone else that thinks it was faked, and let them see reason.

Like aviophage, I agree you should do some research before coming on here with this question. My stock answer is very much like hers, but I'll repeat it so you get it into your head.

If you did that research, you would become aware that Germany developed inter-continental ballistic missile capability back in the 1940’s and their V2 rockets hit London in 1944 and 1945.

Their rocket genius, Werhner Von Braun, escaped to the USA after WWII and was instrumental in developing America’s huge Saturn V rocket, the only rocket ever built capable of injecting humans out of Earth orbit.

Had Germany won the war, and had they had the urge to turn their rocket technology to space, rather than to war, there is little doubt they could have attained the moon way before 1969, perhaps even before 1960.

So, you see, it is completely ridiculous to wonder why we can’t do it now. The potential was there way before the Americans picked up the baton, and pulled the thing off. We could go to the moon with more technology now, but the finance isn’t there.

Another thing people who question the moon landings fail to understand is that for the cost of one manned moon mission, NASA can put about 20 probes into deep space to study the sun, comets, the outer planets. They can put incredibly successful robots onto Mars, and can make many trips to the International Space station, and continue to build on that technology.

The argument about how come we had that technology then and not now, also falls over by the fact that before 1970 we had a supersonic airliner, the Concorde. It used to fly Mach 2.2. Now, our fastest airliners fly less than mach 1. The dream of supersonic travel has given way to mass transport – jumbo jets. Air travel has never been so cheap, and never been so safe. Concorde was incredibly expensive to run, and a highly dangerous machine.

Space exploration has necessarily gone the same way as air travel – cost effective solutions. This is unfortunately, a world where many other serious matters require tax payers money.

Please pay attention to real science, real knowledge. The tabloids, stupid chain emails, and hype TV shows are putting all kinds of garbage into kids heads a million times faster than ever in the past.

Think and check for yourself before listening to people who know very little about the subject.

The moon landings (they had several) where part of a national exhibition of superiority over the USSR during the cold war. Basically a chest thumping of the USA, after the USSR was the first one to launch a rocket into outer space and orbit a satellite.
The costs for this landings are astronomical and can't be justified, because there is nothing much to get on the moon, other then dust.

If you want to become an astronaut, you have to learn all the facts about a situation before you decide what is true and what is not.
If you haven't done any research, just going on what you heard someone say or read somewhere briefly, you are not getting all the facts to make an educated decision.
Finding out ALL the facts (not just data but the science, physics and mechanics behind the data) and logic are critical to any scientist or astronaut.

Theres an easy answer why we have not been back to the moon.

COST.

you want to build your own shuttle ? I presume you have BILLIONS of dollars spare ?

The moon yielded nothing of value so going back to it was not cost effective, efforts were put on building the international space station and other exploration.
As a child I watched the moon landings live and dont believe for a second they were fake.

They ended the program because it was too expensive and was suppose to end at Apollo 20 anyway. The Apollo program was not faked. Too many people were involved in it for it to have been kept a secret. It would have been easier to just go ahead a do it than keep such a secret.

We landed there. Space Shuttles were not built with moon landing in mind so we can't land them there. there is a 0% chance that it is faked in my opinion.

Hi. Many people believe we did not have the technology to make it to the Moon but believe we had the technology to fake it. This. to me, is pretty lame. It was MUCH easier to actually make the landings.
