Anybody with eyes would see we have Top Contributors with varying ranges of skill, very good, and very bad. I won't mention any bad ones, but I have loved reading answers from:
Ash- Cichlids, plants, and fish in general
Copperhead- diseases, saltwater, and anything else fish related
Craig- Saltwater (I'm sure others, but you haven't been here that long)
8 in the Corner- Cichlids, Inverts, and diseases
Evelyn- fish in general and breeding
Fivespeed- Cichlids, diseases, and fish in general
GhostShrimpFan- Inverts and fish in general
JonV- Cichlids, Arowanas, and fish in general
KylieAnne- Bettas and Goldfish
LuvinLife- Bettas, for sure!
MagicMan- hmm, where to start, where to start... Livebearers, Bettas, diseases, breeding, and general fish
(In alphabetical order to avoid any flak)
I picked these Top Contributors for their general knowledge, humor, politeness, and rapid replies.
Nosoop4u
EDIT: No Top Contributors should have been harmed in the making of this post, if you were, you need to find something better to do with your life than Yahoo! Answers.
EDIT 2: Craig, if I post a disclaimer saying, "don't be offended", I sure had better not be offended by somebody else. I have better things to do than become #1 Top Contributor... well, maybe I don't, but still, I know what you mean! ;~D
EDIT 3: Um, Eric the Generous, have you ever even looked at any of the links that get posted by Top Contributors? Maybe on one occasion did I see a link that sells stuff, and never have I seen any from the Top Contributors that have been listed.
EDIT 4: Eric the Generous, get a clue! Posting a link to another site is not "stealing" members! The term for that is called "assisting"! And here you go,
"LINKS
The Service may provide, or third parties may provide, links to other World Wide Web sites or resources. Because Yahoo! has no control over such sites and resources, you acknowledge and agree that Yahoo! is not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources, and does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any Content, advertising, products or other materials on or available from such sites or resources. You further acknowledge and agree that Yahoo! shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such Content, goods or services available on or through any such site or resource."
Rule # 17 of the Y!A terms of service, none of which are violated by posting a link. Have fun with that, and when you find a rule that Top Contributors are breaking, let us know.
EDIT 5(and counting):Eric the Generous, members of Yahoo!Answers are in no way property of Yahoo!Answers, neither is anything posted on Y!A (as you would know if you read the terms of service), so what exactly are we taking with us?!

Most of the top contributors are very knowledgeable. Some are more knowledgeable in specific areas. I haven't' asked any questions yet, but I haven't needed to. I've gone back thru the posts and been able to find the information that I've needed. I've also made note of who gives consistently good answers and I have to say the top contributors are great. Every question that I searched for had an answer from a top contributor and all were very helpful.
I think the best ones out of the bunch are Fivespeed302, Ash, Evelyn, Magicman, JonV, 8 in the corner, Zoe, Kylie, Copperhead, and of course nosoop4u. It's a toss up for me. If I had to list an absolute favorite out those mentioned above- it would be have to be Fivespeed302.

Where to start, where to start? I like the answers from Magicman, Copperhead, 8 in the corner, Craig, Evelyn March, Nosoop4u, JonV - those are the ones who come to mind first, thought there are other great ones out there that I've just had a momentary lapse on, for sure. And, though I have definitely learned A TON from all of these people, I guess I'd have to say I give the most props to Magicman and JonV, MAINLY because they always seem to reply *politely* to the asker no matter how stupid the question might seem (though I still laugh at the contributors who give the occasional well-deserved verbal rap on the knuckles to those people who stuff 50 fish in a brand new 5-gallon tank and wonder why they all died....).
I thank you all for your help, and my fish thank you, too - their lives are better because you take the time to do what you do.

Well besides myself of course (*wink*), there is Fivespeed, Zoe, 8 in the corner, Magic, Jon V, Ghapy, Nosoop4u, Kylie, Evelynmarch, and Copperhead. No one else comes to my mind right at the moment but if they do, I will add them. As was stated already, not to be too pollitically correct, but everyone makes their own contributions here. There are many more who have had some great answers besides the ones I mentioned, these particular names I did mention, I have either some really high respect for or I have contacted them personaly and have found them to be very knowledgeable in different ways.
EDIT: Did I mention Nosoup4u? What can I say, I got a soft spot for that guy! He is pretty right on for his age and experience level, and hey, he makes me laugh.
I will say evelynmarch again because she has made some amazing contributions in the past while and I got to hand it to her for her dedication. She works HARD at this and deserves whatever props and B.A.s she gets!
I have to give more credit to Fivespeed too because he knows a ton about everything and has a um "tactful" way of answering.
Though I know nothing about Ghapy (the true mystery man)except he is awsome with cichlids, he has all my respect anyway. Ghapy rocks!
Of course Magicman is great cause he is, well, magic! And he knows alot about disease which I find helpful.
And deR though he is not a top contibuter (yet) cause he has big kahunas and he taught me stuff about plecos I didn't know before.
I could go on but I better stop now or we will be here all night.

Well there are plenty that I have respect for. Many of the top contributors got to be where they are from being honest and helpful about this forum.
I have a few favs such as Jon who has helped me out with my tank cycle.
Magic because he ROCKS! What can I say? He is a brillant man and he has never turned me away when I needed help.
EV is also awesome. She has researched many things so she could help others.
Nosoop.. what can I say that man knows his stuff!
Copperhead has always taught me something from his posts.
Kylie Anne has helped me in many ways when I couldn't figure out what was going on with my Betta fry.
I enjoy reading Ash's answers about plants since I am clueless about that subject.
Fivespeed is very clever in a number of subjects.
There are way to many here to name. This forum is for helping people with FISH problems not to boost someone's ego. The top contributors spend hours of their free time to help someone out and I for one am greatful to each and everyone of them! To the Top Contributors.. Keep doing what you are doing! I for one am grateful!

It's hard to pick just one. All of them are the top contributers and deserve a round of applause. But I'd have to say that I favor copperhead because (from my point of view) he is despertely trying to beat MM because of his long and descriptive answers. But that's just my opinion. There are many other people with many other opinions.

i do no longer pay that plenty interest to the guy, somewhat the question/ answer itself. merely because of the fact a man or woman is a precise contributor does no longer recommend they're going to immediately have the final answer.

I would have to say that MagicMan is my favorite- while there are several that I have a great deal of respect for, like Fivespeed302, 8 in the corner, JonV, Zoe, Evelynmarch26, and Copperhead, Magicman has actually given me personal information to help me with a resuce betta. I believe that if it had not been for his help, I would no longer have that fish. And to this day, he is a happy, healthy betta. So, my vote officially goes to MagicMan. He's my hero.

Wow... some thin skinned individuals here. Here's a newsflash, none of you are getting paid to answer (I hope) any questions here. Doesn't really matter if it is right or wrong, just has to sound good.
I on the other hand do this professionally. Sometimes I give up a freebie here and there. My work and knowledge is worth money and I get paid a middle class income for it. I don't expect you to give me what you do for free, so I don't think its right to expect the same from me for free.
My work is only as good as my last reference. Without a lot of satisfied customers, I'd be out of business in a hurry.
Some things I agree with here. I've learned a thing or two. I've gotten plenty of good laughs here as well.
Most common fish keeping issues have to do with water quality issues. Most of my solutions are basically resolutions of these issues. Customers pay money and want instant results. That's the hardest part of being a "professional". Doing what is right vs. doing what will provide the most customer satisfaction. Believe me, it isn't always the same thing!
This question isn't fair, because the people answering here are doing it for reasons of ego and self satisfaction. Some people spend waaaay to much time here and take this waaaay too seriously. The original question is feeding a fire that needs no fuel.
I'm doing it to pay bills. That's why I don't participate much here. I could get 100 thumbs down and 0% "Best Answers" it wouldn't mean anything to me, because I view this in an entirely different way. I only care about the money.

They are all good and I don't want to give the impression that they are not, but, in my opinion, MagicMan rocks. His Answers are concise, intelligent, and kind. He's never rude, he never makes assumptions, and he never belittles anyone for their mistakes. He also doesn't mind going out of his way to help out. I've noticed that Fish people are as crazy as Dog people and tend to be in the mind set that "if it's not my way then it is the wrong way". MM is not like that and I appreciate that very much. Thanks to MM, I have two healthy tanks with healthy fish. I do appreciate everyone else as well, it's just that I've developed a soft spot for MagicMan.
Good Grief...I'm going back to Home and Garden.
