Only a handful of US stores that are within a couple of miles of the Canadian border accept Canadian money. You'd have to exhange it in to US money to use it in Bangor.

Most States will accept coins but not dollars this inclues the $1 & $2. So you should convert your money.

The US is terrible at accepting foreign currency. You have to exchange your money to US dollars no matter where you are.
You can however, use your US dollars in Canada without exchanging it.

I would guess it needs to be converted... Just cause we are next to Mexico (i'm in NEW mexico usa) we dont accept pesos....

some places take but not alot you should convert though snd if you bring anything back and they cheak they might make you pay for thr taxes.
