Every summer when I go to camp or to a friend's sleep-over, I bring one of my brother's old twin bed sets, and I'm sick of them! Usually the camp beds are small twin bunks, and I want to make my own in a style for me. How easy is it to make complete twin sets yourself? I mean, a comforter, a sheet, an 'undersheet" (the sheet that you put around the matress, not sure what it's called) and a pillow case. How could I do that?
(ps. suggestions as to the pattern of the fabric? I like to go either completely grade-school boy-ish or college girl. Eg. Either transformers or batman, or swirly pink, blue and brown flowers or bright pastel colors. No Nick Junior or any of its kin.
Thank ye kindly!)

They're very simple. You could make it even simpler and cheaper by doing all flat sheets instead of a fitted one for the bottom, and make a cover for the comforter you already have, instead of a whole new comforter. But here are patterns for all of them. The comforter here is king, but you can re-size for twin.

It probably is more cost effective to go to Marshall's or Target and buy these than it is to make them, given the cost of fabric.
Also, you are unlikely to find fabric wide enough to make sheets (either top sheet or fitted bottom sheet) without sewing two sections together. That won't look as good as sheets you buy, and the bottom sheet's seam may be uncomfortable to sleep on.

Classic white is always nice, think of crisp white sheets at a nice hotel. You can get white duvet covers at Ikea for like $10. buy a couple and throw them away after a few washings if they don't look nice.

If you have a sewing machine, it'll be easy. If you have an overlocker (serger) it'll be even easier. Go to your local fabric shop and look for 100% natural fibres. Explain what you want to do, and the shop assistants will help. I'm afraid we can't tell you what prints will be available at your local shop!
