In texas how many times can they reset a felony criminal court case? My brother was supposed to go to court on the 20 but they pushed it back almost 2 more months, he is not in jail now, but we would like to get this over with. So how many times can they reset a felony court date? Could this go on and on for ever?

It cannot go on forever -- there is a constitutional requirement for a speedy trial.

However, it can drag on for potentially several years, depending on the reasons for the delay and who is requesting the delay.

If the defense wants to move forward, and all of the delays are caused by the prosecution, then generally 8~12 months is the longest things can be dragged out without the defendant's consent.
