first nite of honeymoon in a really nice suite directly after wedding. both are virgins. after first nite flying directly to Tuscany, Italy for duration of honeymoon. anyway, what is right to do - first nite? embarrassed to ask: do I just start touching him soon as door close or wait until he say it's okay? what does male want? or can I freshen up immediately upon entering hotel room (take a shower) after dancing, sweating, and nerves, etc might feel better if i'm showered before the "deed." VERY nervous -- what is best to do first? thanks.

I asked a good friend of mine for many years the same question. She's been married for years and I really respect her. I'm doing the same thing and this is the advice she gave us. Granted he knows that I'm afraid and nervous. She said that its best not to do it on the first night, but just to get to know eachother. She advised a shower so that we can get to know eachothers bodies, and then just sleep together. THen the next day/night we can see where it goes. Don't rush anything and make sure to communicate. When you feel eachother's bodies she said that we'd know when it was right, and kiss, and take it slow, fondle. Appretiate eachother and then she said there will be a moment when you feel it in his kiss, and you both just know that its time. But don't till you feel ready. Good luck, and good job waiting, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Everyone is better after freshening up after a long flight and the change in time zones is going to affect you. The two of you will know what is right and when it is right regardless. Maybe you won't care about freshening up. It's not just about what he wants but what you want to do together. The first time is always strange but don't stress over it. You can ask for whatever makes you comfortable but I think nature will take you over in whatever the situation. Just have a great time. It will all come together. It always does.

Yes, shower...after a night on a plane after a reception in a hot dress you are going to want a shower. Then take a deep breath as husband and wife, laugh a little, relax and do what comes naturally.
