i have a Japanese form Scanned and saved in JPEG format.i need to translate the japanese words in the form to english by copy- pasting it.so, i need to convert them in such a way that i can copy-paste the words.(Hope i make myself clear). Ideas please...

you can import it into a program that uses OCR (optical character recognition) it will scan the image for characters it can recognize and convert them to text, these programs work best on images containing mono spaced fonts, most scanners come with OCR software, adobe acrobat has an OCR feature as well.

You also need a Translator Program.You need to copy ,paste from the Image file to the Word Doc .
Then you can use the Translator to translate from Japanese to English.
Also make sure the Word Doc is UTF8 compliant.

You can't convert an image to text or text to an image. You can imbed the image in your document using the Inset command. I don't use word so I can't help you further. Try reading the help file. That will save us all a lot of time.

cant you open a word doc. and insert a picture from file.
and browse to the picture that is in jpeg. form.
you can then save it as a word doc.

the best way to do this is to follow [Insert] ->Picture->From File-> specify your filename, this will insert your jpeg image into your document file, and then your document will contain the file.
