Absolutely!
Dems are quite comfortable with criminal and treacherous activities.
Consider Senator Robert Byrd (D), an admitted former member of the KKK (who was even the Grand Kleegle- the head of recruitment). While membership in this organization is not a crime, some might say this is a "hate-group" that committed numerous murders and lynchings.
Consider Marion Barry(D), former mayor of Washington DC caught on videotape buying and using CRACK with a hooker. Re-elected by his DEM constituents.
Consider Congressman William Jefferson(D), busted with $90,000 in marked bills he took as a bribe. Still in office...
Although Barry was not in congress, I have little doubt that his DEM constituents would line up to vote for him.

Bush was convicted of DUI. Cheney has two of them. Would this have made a difference if it would have been made public before the election? They happened many years ago. Would that still effect someone's vote? That's an individual decision. So, in answer to your question, it all depends but most likely not.

Depends on the crime. Did he shop-lift as a child? Or are we talking a violent crime?
I mean, Ted Kennedy had committed the crime of driving drunk. So had George W. Bush. So why are you just asking Democrats?

It depends on the crime -- if it's a misdemeanor, and not job related, then it shouldn't be a factor.
But both parties have elected (or re-elected) felons -- so, even for serious crimes, it's not a guaranteed loss. That's the problem with the current system -- even a felon can get re-elected.

If they did how would that be different than the Republicans all being crooks? Is there anyone in that party that hasn't been convicted of a crime?

They have several in there now. Alcee Hastings for one, Ted Kennedy is another. Harry Reid is staring down the barrel right now.
