staying with family is always an easy answer. I have no family that can help. My oldest son died in the marine corp several years ago and now my 24 year old son is living with me because he lost his job. Our local communities don't offer help because i have no minor children.
I thought life was supose to get easier as we get older its more and more difficult.

You may be eligible for other services while you wait. Check with both the State and Federal Government. They should have offices and/or hot lines to answer your questions. Good luck.

You hear of this more and more. It's a disgrace! How can we enact a law to change this attitude toward real disabilities? Because it is an attitude of that dept. They think if they hold out, people will find some kind of work, then they don't have to pay. I for one, am tired of hearing this and will write my congressman asap. Try to engage your friends, family and co-workers to write, too. All you can do is find someone caring to stay with for now. You may try a local church; some are very willing to lend a hand financially. Did you contact social services and see if they have a suggestion? Even food stamps could help a lot and food pantries in your town. Good luck. My prayers will be on you!

I'm really sorry for your situation.

Since you are writing this though that means you have access to the internet, I would *strongly* encourage you to look into charities and churches in your area. Possibly try to retain a lawyer who will take your case on a pro bono basis. There should be some sort of state disability that you can collect. If there is any sort of work you are able to do, perhaps something part time that is not physical, try to get set up with something. Also try to talk to your landlord, perhaps you can work something out. Be honest with the son that lives with you, maybe he needs to get a job to help out with the rent etc. especially during this difficult time.

Again I am really sorry.

My neighbor waited over 2-1/2 years. this was after 3 back surgeries and two heart attacks. They are in no hurry to give out the benefits.

very complex situation isnt it?!!!

ya cant work cause your injured, ya cant get paid by your work if ya wasnt insured, welcome to the club!!!

it took me 5 years of court hearings and appeals to get mine, and they only pay backpay for 2 years!!!

if your in dire straights ya may be able to get temporary state aid!!!

if you have doctors reports that verify that you are disabled and it will last longer than a year then go apply for state ssi.

when i was tryin to get mine it was the reagan years, and to help outspend the soviets on weapons and military buildup thousands of severly disabled peaple were thrown off of it and denied benefits!!!

i was hit by a semi trailer during a blizzard while i was pulling peaple out of the car that ran into the back of my semi trailer!!

the car was smoking so i was pulling the 4 guys laying on the floorboards out of the car, i heard a airhorn, looked up and the semi trailer slid into me!!!

lot of damage done, lotta pain and i had all kinds of x-rays, doctors reports and solid evidence but they kept denying me!!!

they had administrative law judges denying everyone, plus the doctor they sent you to were nazi assholes!!!

do your homework, gather all your evidence, ask family and freinds for help until it happens!!!

good luck!!!

You fit the category of George Bush's "ownership society"...you're on your own. Sorry about your situation... I'm on social security too, and I'd much rather work.

They do this on purpose to force you to get a job. Your not the only one to go through this. They don't care if you starve.
