When properly and positively understood, pride is gladness for having someone to say 'yes, you did it right'.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

As a high opinion of oneself, it has no purpose. As satisfaction in something done, I see no purpose. Haughtiness and arrogance, I have never found a reason for those two. A person or thing in which pride is taken is a passing fancy and very little long term benefit so what is the purpose.

I like distraction of one's ego. God says it is a sin. God tells us to be humble and not prideful.

Pride secures isolation. Rather pride and arrogance serves to isolate us from others. When we take ourselves too seriously and take too much pride in matters of the ego, the rest of the world cannot live up to us. We are great, afterall.

I am proud of some of my accomplishments. However, they were achieved in conjunction with others and with a variety of other factors. When I become ego bound and attribute this to only "me", I then create a "superior" me that leaves others as inferiors.

Not a nice way to live life.

I agree with flux.

my opinion, provided a positive mindset,
it brings out the best in you, to do great things for the people you care about =)

it also helps one to achieve their goals, no matter the cost =)

remember, though it is said we should be humble, GOD wishes we succeed in life and help those in need too!!!

if we can turn a bad into a good, why not? it's all a matter of how you look at it ;)

Hope this helps, Peace.

No. I could live my entire life and never experience love, but I can certainly care about myself, my life, and what I give to society.
