Okay went to the doctor today and I might be totally mixing this up but Im suppose to be 18 wks, the first day of my last period was May 2nd(im positive of that). The nurse practioner said that Im only measuring at 13.5 inches. Does this mean the baby isn't growing correctly? Should I be concerned about any of this

The baby is roughly one half as long as how many weeks you are. 18 weeks=9 inches. I think 13.5 is more than okay.

Do you mean 13.5 cm? Are you talking about the uterus measurement? I have never heard of anyone measuring that in inches, because then at 40 weeks your uterus would be forty inches! That's kind of crazy.

If you are measuring small, it could be okay anyway. If the doctor wasn't concerned, I wouldn't be either.

Hey there - i conceived on the same day as you (I am 18 weeks too) and I have my scan on Monday. As I believe it - the baby should be approx 5-6 inches crown to rump........if you nurse was concerned she would have passed you over to a specialist - has she done any of this.

I would make an appointment to see your midwife/GP or carer to discuss this further. All stats are based on averages, your baby could just be smaller than average.

Relax but do go & speak to someone.....today.

best of luck xxx
