If so, why do we suddenly give full attention when someone wants to tell a Rumor?

Yes, I do, but I shouldn't. I guess because rumors are interesting pieces of information that gets passed around that is not necessarily true. Most rumors are 1 part truth and 3 parts imagination. Why? Because, face it, imagination is more interesting than the truth a lot of the time.

Yes, I do because it's usually news that someone did something stupid and I laugh at them.

But seriously, it might have to do with just wanting to know everything about the people around you so you can subconsciously judge whether they are a good person or not. That's my guess.
