Just this year I've bought an iPod (use it on the treadmill and going to sleep) a plasma screen television, and a Global Positioning System for my car. OH, and the aforementioned treadmill, which tells me my speed and pulse as I trot along ! How on earth did we all survive without these high-tech gadgets ? Do you love 'em.....or hate 'em ?

In my opinion the single most life-changing technology is the cell phone. Think of what it was like getting stranded somewhere with no way to contact your family or friends for help unless you happened to be near a pay phone and had some change.

I sure am! When I think back 20 odd years ago, I was a computer 'dummy' and never thought that one day I would be able to send a letter to someone on the other side of the world in a split second. They would read it and reply in a matter of minutes. I never thought I would be able to design and build my own website, so that people all over the world could see the things that particularly interest me. I never would have thought that I could take someones photo or a movie with my mobile phone. I never would have thought that I could throw my street directory away because a satelite circling the earth was sending a GPS signal to a mini screen on my dashboard to point me in the right direction. I love the changes in technology that is happening today and how it makes life so much easier for us all. Who knows what we will be able to do in the next five years! Go with the flow!

I love 'em all, but I could live without every one of them, just as I did while growing up in the 50's & 60's. I was so excited when my parents bought me my first "transistor radio." If you gave one of those to a young one now & took away their iPod, they'd be lost. We didn't have all those high tech gadgets back then, & I turned out just fine. I'm all for today's technology, & enjoy the goodies in life.

I'll be glad when they no longer work. These "gadgets" are altering our brain waves & affecting our health. I won't have any part of a cell phone & I rarely use the microwave that came with my apt., & when I do, it's only to heat water! I use the computer when I house-sit for a firefighter. I don't think I want one around me ALL of the time. I feel the same about television.

I love computers. They make a lot of information available to me that would not be otherwise; and, permit me to engage in the occasional odd conversation, like this, that a lot of people think silly but I enjoy.

I love cds and dvds because they are not as easily damaged as vinyl records or tapes and because they make a lot of old movies and songs available to me that would be hard to find otherwise.

Microwaves are handy, especially for people like myself who live alone and do not have the need to do much cooking.

Cell Phones can be handy, but I think they are overused; and, have created a situation where all too many people can be reached by just about anyone except the person right next to them.

We've come a long way, baby, with technology. We could do without all of it, of course, but we enjoy it. I'd love to have one of the future computers to come out with the virual keyboard and the virtual monitor. You know, the kind that aren't really there they just appear to be, yet they work? Now that would be cool.

I have to laugh every time I see someone with that Bluetooth earpiece. It always reminds me of The Borg on Star Trek. The Borg has come and assimilated some of us. Resistance is futile. HAHAHAHAHA

Gee, I guess. But I thought my mom's great big "hi fi" reel to reel tape recorder was the best, ha ha.Much of the new technology is awesome, of course. Particularly in the medical field. Now if only our hearts and minds could evolve in the same manner; including mine. For us humans, always an uphill climb. In good weather, I'd still enjoy hanging sheets and towels on the line. And I could easily live without the boob tube.Radio rocks!

I'm actually kind of down on home technology.

I don't have a cell phone.
I don't have cable TV.
I don't have a lot of extra bills, because of that fact.

I do have my computer and a landline. I do have a microwave, but I love to cook and bake and I need a real oven or fire to do that justice.

I don't particularly hate the new technology, I just don't have time for it.
