the battery is not supplying enough juice to initiate the starter,
get a new battery or a jump

It could acutally be both. I would suggest putting a new battery in it first. If the problem persists, then get a starter. OR, change both at the same time, that way your bases are covered. These parts are not too expensive.

Rapid clicking (or ticking) noise is a very low battery...or just dirty/corroded connections. I would remove the terminals and clean the mating surfaces (coke and a old toothbrush works great) first. If you still need to jump start it to get it running then I would have the alternator and battery tested, since it might not be giving or taking a charge.

More than likely the battery.... try to get a jump start, if it jumps than it is the battery.

Probably the starter. Buy a new one for less than $5 and replaced the old one.
