Germans weren't close in developing them, they already had them, lol(Me 262)...They even had La Comet rocket plane, but it wasn't very effective.Other wonder weapons were:
1)U boat model submarine with supersonic engines that could get to New York in no time, bomb it to hell, and then disappear.
2)Infra-red sights for MP-44
3)Maus tanks (incredible tanks which weighted over 150 tons,2 guns one 88mm and other one 100mm,3 machineguns and extremely thick front armor,2 were made)
4)Graf Zeppelin (aircraft carrier)
5)Robot panzer (a one man panzer suit actually, with AA rockets and AT rockets, one MG,several were made)
6)All sorts of rockets,even V1 with cockpite
7)Super bomber planes that could bomb New York and U.S.A.
8)I heard of something called Sound Cannon,I even saw a prototype but I don't understand what it is.The idea was that it would produce a sound we can't hear but affects us...The idea was to actually make Russian soldiers go crazy and don't even hear what it is while Germans would wear some ear protection.Fortunately,Germans didn't develop the sound cannon completely.
I hope that is enough :)

~There are far too many German weapons to list here, either the ones that were used, the ones in production or the ones ready for production. You can find many of them at:

As for the jets, Messerschmitt had the Me262 in the air by August, 1944. By the end of the war the HEINKEL HE-162A-2 VOLKSJAEGER and the Arado Ar 234 Blitz (Lightning) (the first jet bomber) were flying. The Me 163 Komet was the fastest thing in the air in WWII but it was a rocket plane, not a jet.
The Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star was the first operational jet fighter used by the United States Army Air Forces. It first saw action in Korea and production did not begin until after WWII. Great Britain got the Gloster Meteor into action a few months after the Me162 went on line.
The Heinkel He 178 is the first jet to have flown successfully, in 1939, but it did not go into production.

The "German saucers" are often known also as the "V-7 legend": this comes from a reportedly circular aircraft named "V-7" and claimed to have flown in Prague on February 14, 1945.
Latest developments of the legend, including claims of German space journeys to the Moon, Mars and near stars will be also taken into consideration.
Also of interest are all those rumours about secret Allied developments of original German projects, Nazi underground bases and related stories, like Hitler's escape and mysterious U-Boats sighted after the end of WWII.
Besides claims of would-be inventors and rumours, there are no original first-hand historical documents about the development of saucer-shaped aircrafts by the Germans. The supporters of the saucers' reality say that most but all documents and blueprints were destroyed by the Nazis before surrender or captured by the Allied and never released, due to their extreme strategic importance. Investigation for locating possible undisputable sources is still running.
check out this sight... pretty neat looking picts too!
