The unpredictability implied by quantum mechanics has done away with the Newtonian world view, in which all future events are predetermined. In our evolutionary worldview, there always is a choice: a variety of possibilities, some of which are retained by selection. The defining characteristic of a cybernetic agent is some degree of control over that selection. Because of their capacity for thought, people, moreover, are not only free to choose between given possibilities, but able to conceive novel possibilities and explore their consequences. Is this free will and are we really allowed to practice it?

We are born free and everywhere else in chains.

Although there is some control generated by cybernetic agents and quantum machines, and in society as a whole, we are basically free to do whatever our will dictates, within reason, of course. That is, we are free to make choices between possibilities and still stay within the confines of the laws and ethics. God has given everyone a free will, which in some instances is self-defeating. However, the general idea and purpose is to improve and contribute, and not to destroy. Thanks for a very thought-provoking question.

As long as you're working, working under a Boss, you got no free will... haha, just joking.

Yes, we do have free will. Compared to many other life on this planet, we have the freedom of choice. Hence, free will. Definitely we're allowed to practice it, provided for good =)

Hope this helps, Peace.

Quantum mechanics has also destroyed the view of determinism in human behaviour and the causal nexus of historical events.

It turns out that humans do have 'free will' and are responsible for their decisions.

No. You don't understand quantum mechanics, and choice has absolutely nothing to do with free will.

Yes and no. We do, but we believe our free will is more powerful in regard to the "outcome" than it really is.

God designed the world so that everything is a choice. And yes we have free will to choose.
