I want to get into Social Work after High School, and I've been wondering... If I go to a community college right after High School, and THEN go to a university (For four years) after those two years after I get my AS, what are the benefits?? Will I learn a lot at the Community College that will make the university life easier and more enjoyable??
Thank you :D

P.S- My first day of 11th grade was today, and I'm in this program called "Futures" that I got into. What it is exacly is this class where I'll be researching deeply into what I want to do in the future. Then our Advisors work hard to get us an intership that will look amazing for College.

The major advantage is financial. You can save two years of 4-year college tuition, which can be substantial. If you were less than a stellar student in high school, the other advantage is that when you transfer to a 4-year college, your high school grades and SAT scores don't count, just your community college grades. There is no evidence that a university would be any easier or more fun if you spent two years at a community college first.

Have a great year, but I have to tell you that in 28 years of working at universities, I've never heard of a college being particularly impressed by a high school internship. They would much rather you took the most rigorous academic classes possible in high school.

It is cheaper to go to the community college
You can take the same introduction classes that you need for the university at the community college and those classes should transfer over. The cost per credit hour is waaaay less. But make sure to decided which university you want to go to and on their website you can find out exactly which classes at your community college transfer.

In some cases smaller classrooms, more personal attention, slower teaching processes.

CC is a bridge between HS and College.

The benefits are that it is much cheaper and you'll be in smaller classes and get more personal attention from your professors.

Cheaper, smaller classes, smaller campus so you don't have to rush across campus when you have classes close together.
