I know I shouldn't have, but I stopped taking birth control mid-way through a cycle (about a week into the pack). I was taking tri-sprintec (the generic for ortho tri-cyclen). I have had unprotected sex since I stopped taking the pill. About 3 days after I stopped taking the pill, I was bleeding for 2 or 3 days. Was the bleeding a side effect of stopping the pill mid-cycle? Is there any way I could be pregnant now? How long would it take me to get pregnant?

The bleeding after you stopped was normal, it was withdrawl bleeding from stopping the pill.
If your cycles were regular before you started taking birth control then your cycles should get back to a regular pattern within 3 cycles. However, you can get pregnant much sooner, some women get pregnant very quickly after stopping BC.
When you stopped the pill and started bleeding, count this as cycle day 1, and if you haven't had a period by cycle day 60, make an appt with your ob/gyn.
As for your odds of getting pregnant, about 25% of couples get pg in the first month. 60% get pg within 6 months, 75% get pg within 9 months, and 80% get pg by one year. 90% get pg by 18months. The average each month is you have about a 20% chance in any given cycle to get pg.

Depending on the type of pills and how they work to stop your ovulation cycle, it could be up to a month before the meds kick out and your body goes back to normal. However, you stopped taking the meds mid month and then you had bleeding--was the bleeding around the time of your normal period time? Because if it was, then it could mean that you're already able to get pregnant. If you're aiming to concieve, it'll be soon enough. If you're aiming to not concieve, go back on your pills, but stop by the doctor's office first (because some pills are in such a way where you have to start all over at the beginning of the month so your half a pack right now would be completely useless).

Best advice I can give you is that you should really stop by and check with your doctor. Use a condom until then if you're not looking to get pregnant, and if you are, just enjoy it and it'll happen soon enough.
