First of all, if you have missed a period they say the best time to get the most accurate test is a week after a missed period. However, I tested 3 days after I missed my period and got a positive result.
As for the boobs issue.... that was one of the symptoms that I was pregnant. I couldn't even stand the water hitting my nipples in the shower it hurt so bad.
Let me tell you though, I wasn't trying to get pregnant, it was completely unexpected and unplanned. However, when I was going to test I was soooo nervous because it was almost like deep down I knew I was. At first I didn't even tell my roommate I had missed my period until the day I bought the test and then I made her promise not to tell anyone I was getting a test. I had never been so nervous in my life because I just knew what the answer was.
Good luck.

My boobs have been pretty much large and painful throughout my entire pregnancy, yes starting at the very beginning, and my nipples look like radio dials at this point (27 weeks.) They were large to start with, so depending on the size of yours you may feel breast pain sooner. It could be a sign of being pregnant, but it could also be a simple sign of a late period. Boobs always swell before your period.
I conceived through IVF, so I was advised not to take home tests at all, because they can give false positives/negatives. I was made to wait 2 weeks after the insemination to take the blood test. That's generally the best time frame to take the test . . .for you that would probably be about 2 weeks after your missed period, so wait a couple days if you are going to take a home test.
Best of luck!

Sound preggo to me, and the comment above me doesnt even make sense. I dont know what the last time you having sex would have to do with an HPT. You can test the day of your missed period, and if you are 8 days late you can test now and about a week ago for that matter. Good Luck!

Not necessarily. My girl friend (who oddly enough is 22) was having this exact same problems about two weeks ago. Her breasts were constantly in pain. I think the described them as more or less sore than anything else. But this went one for several days. Obviously we got a little worried so we went and got a test which came up negative. So we waited. I think it was probably about a week until they stopped hurting. The part that neither one of us got was that her breasts did get a little bigger. Not a cup size or anything like that. But just a bit bigger. The only real advice I can give you is to go out and get a test. Hope this puts a little peace to your mind

The only way to be sure is take the hpt. Since you are eight days late any of the hpt will work. I would go with a two pack, because, with me anyways, what ever the results are I have to do it twice to make sure. Good Luck!

The only symptom i had was feelnig like i was about to start my period for a long long time but never did, and feeling like someone used a cheese grater on my nipples.

I would wait until you are two weeks late. SOme tests will not detect low levels of Hcg and you might get a false negative. Wait it out, it will be worth it. If you are too impatient, get a blood test. Get a qualitative as it will give you a number instead of just a positive or negative.

it takes 10 days for the egg to implant and make hormones, so you should wait till the first day of your missed perriod. and yes your boobs hurt, but it is also a sign of pms. you may notice blue veins showing up on your chest.
