It would depend on what is on your record. You would need to go the the recruiting office Army would be easiest. Marine Corps is more picky but all depends on the needs of the service.
You will need to tell them everything and show them that you are a changed person. You will apply for a waiver for each offense and your case will be either approved or disapproved by the Commanding Officer of the Processing Station.
If you can join the service, I recommend it because 4 years with an Honorable discharge that can be used in lieu of a degree and make you more marketable.
Also it makes you look better despite your record it shows you are now a law abiding citizen that served his/her country.
But get another law enforcement job ATF make our lives miserable!

I am assuming you have some 'possession' tickets. It depends what it is if you want to become a law enforcement agent, but all law agencies are always willing to look for someone that knows the 'scene' and can get in on the inside. We call these people NARCS.

Sure, but why would anyone want to be an Automatic Transmission Fluid agent?
Now . . . if you wanted to know about being an agent for the BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives), same question applies . . . why would you want to be an agent whose express purpose is to divest Americans of their God-given Constitutionally recognized rights to bear arms, get drunk, use tobacco and freely buy fireworks?
The only qualification for working for BATFE is a commitment to Marxist principles.
