It's political in the regards that it brought the up the issue dealing with the lack of enforcement in dealing with the national problem of illegal immigration.

No it is not politics. That was a horrible situation but something 'good' has come out of it. NJ is now requiring that INS be notified when undocumented individuals are aressted by the police.

Yes. I think it was an MS13 initiation, and the government is hiding that fact because it's a direct result of the failure to enforce immigration laws. Sanctuary cities etc.
