Carson Palmer vs BAL Defense on Monday Night

or

Alex Smith vs ARI Defense Monday night late game?

I know Carson Palmer is stud, but he's opening up against possibly the best D this year and Alex Smith looks really good in camp and is going against ARI fantasy friendly Def. What's the better choice?

Or is this a no brainer and just go with Palmer?

Look at Palmer adn Smith's stats last year:

Palmer got 195 yards 1TD, 2 INT the first time against Baltimore and 234 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT the second time.

Smith got 288 yards, 1TD, 0 INT the first game against Arizona and 190 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT the second time.

SF got Darryl Jackson this year and Vernon Davis healthy.

Still start Palmer?

As much as I want to say start Smith...I can't. I believe that Palmer with Johnson, Johnson (RB), and Housh will be able to put up enough yards passing and touchdowns to beat what Smith could do.

Its hard saying that just because I got half of my teams with BAL def. Also in SF, Gore is going to be the main attraction to start. Yes, they got Davis healthy, and Jackson/Lelie, but still its Alex Smith. The cardinals DEF isn't that good, but if this was a bye week for my DEF, I would pick them up against the 49ers.

Go with Palmer, its a tough choice when you look at the numbers, but Palmer is the better player and will have a better week 1.

Good luck!!

Palmer easily and im a 49ers fan .... I think both the bengals and Niners will win both games , but Palmer has lot more weapons around him so go with him. The only time you should use Smith is during Palmers bye week. Good Luck this season !!!

I'd go with Palmer, just becasue it's the first game of the season and maybe Baltimore will be a little rusty.

Carson Palmer is a stud, don't question the defensive issues that are possible, and he probably is one of the best players you have.

i always got screwed over with these kind of decisions last year. I had David Carr as my qb and manning as the other. Carr was facing the titans and manning was facing the ravens or something. I started Carr and he gave me hardly any points and manning threw for 4 TD's.

I think you should always start your best QB against any defense, especially if its palmer
