It' a new dime from this year (07) but has a golden or yellow look to the edge and across the face.

It must have been near some chemicals that reacted with the copper-nickel. The third side of a coin is the edge and should have a copper color in the middle for it is copper. The rims are the upturned part of the coin, on both sides of the edge. If it was missing one of the layers then the whole obverse or reverse would be copper colored. I have not heard of any such errors as of yet, You can take it to a coin dealer for his opinion. I would need to see the coin also.
