They must really regret it. The reason they didn't take Bush was money, but Bush's contract is only 5 million more over 5 years (when I say only I'm talking about NFL money). They would have made 10 times more than that by having his Name on there teams (tickets, jerseys, etc).
I think they REALLY regret not trading down a few spots. They had so many needs and that was one of the deepest drafts in history! I heard they were offered the 4th overall pick, second round, 4th, and this years 2nd and 3rd rounders from the Jets!
Don't get me wrong Williams is going to be great. I see many Pro Bowls and a potential HOF career! But that still does not justify what they didn't do. MAJOR MISTAKE!!

I doubt if they regret it. Bush is filling the role that best suits him in New Orleans and that is a very good receiving RB and a few carries a game change up RB. I do not see Bush ever being the full time 30+ carries a game RB in the NFL. Would Bush have filled the same kind of role in the Texans offense? Seeing the type of O that Kubiak runs at Houston I'd say no, he wouldn't have. At the time of the draft the Texans seemed more concern with building what had been a horrid D. Their D has gotten better.

I doubt if they regret it at all.
You could make an argument for having taken Vince Young for marketing purposes despite him being a pretty mediocre quarterback. Being from Houston the fans would have loved him, for a while.
They are doing the right thing if they ever want to win the division. The Colts rarely lose shootouts. They are vulnerable to good defenses which keep the score down and a sustained running attack which kills the clock. This was the recipe which worked so well for New England in 2003 and 2004.
I can see your point if you say Mario Williams was not the right pick because he has not lived up to the #1 position. However, picking a defender #1 was a solid move.
They need to continue building that defense.

If the Texans had picked Reggie Bush instead of Mario Williams that still would't make the difference because they have the worst offensive line. Plus, Bush is with a better team with better a coaching staff that knows how to use him.

They made a huge mistake taking Mario Williams, he was terrible for a first round pick. Demeco Ryans was a better pick in the 2nd round. If they would have taken Reggie Bush, the Texans would be a team 2 reckon with. End of Story.

If you had Reggie Bush, you would not have overpaid for Ahman Green. You will never be any good as long as Mike Sherman is involved in team leadership! Look at your roster, Samcon Gado, Vante Leach and Green. All Green bay has beens under Sherman in Green Bay.
Long season in Houston this year.

you could give the sorry texans Peyton Manning and the 1972 Dolphins nd they still could not win. They have always sucked and always will. No matter what team they have.

You dont chose players based on skill but on need & players that suit your philosphy. A player doesn't make a team. they need Defense if they are going to ever build a good franchise. if they want to win their division they need to beat the colts & you cant beat them w/offense but defense.
