For example, in LBS Union or Bank of America or Washington Mutual? Or does it depend on the bank?

Do banks allow you to withdraw 3000 dollars cash in thousand-dollar bills? If not, then how much cash can you withdraw? And/or in what bills?

you can normally cash up to 10000 with hundred dollar bills.
DO NOT DO THIS ON FRIDAYS OR MONDAYS.....mostly everyone gets paid on those days...
the best day is go on thursday....most banks just received their shipments for friday's payroll day.
i would recommend talking to the teller coordinator or teller manager..and do a special order. they can rush money w/out you paying any fees.

there arent 1000 bills that banks distribute

There really is no limit on the amount of cash that you can withdraw, but there are some restrictions. If you are looking to take out a large sum of money, you will want to notify them ahead of time. A bank can refuse your withdrawal depending on the funds they have on hand.
Depending on the size of the bank, you will want to call them up and ask what kind of time they need for your withdrawal. Also be aware that anything over $10,000 with require a CTR form to be filled out. this is just a federal form to insure you are not laundering money or performing illegal activities. As long as you have nothing to hide, you are fine.
Also, be aware that depending on the amount you want, they may try to talk you into an alternate means of withdrawing, such as a wire transfer, or a bank draft. Any good bank will suggest this, because no one wants to see you get robbed. I work for a bank, and I have seen someone take out $20k only to have someone watching her, mug her once she left the bank. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do to give her the money back.
Also a side note in regards to $500 and $1000 bills. They are out of circulation, and they will not be ordered for you. also they are not worth anything more than that. If you take one to a bank, you will only get face value. To find out it's true value, you will need to go to a collector or coinery for that.

You can't withdraw ANYTHING in thousand dollar bills. $100 bills are the largest currently issued. While any $1000 bills still in circulation are legal tender, the Federal Reserve requires banks to retire them as the come in.

You can withdraw as much money as you have from any bank you have it in. It is a good idea to call ahead if you intend to withdraw a large amount of cash from a small bank. They may have limited amounts of cash on hand.

You will never get a bank to give you 3 $1,000 dollar bills (from a bank). The Federal Reserve has taken them out of circulation. They are still legal tender but if somebody gives it to the bank, we give them 10, 100 dollars bills.

The $1,000 bill is not recirculated and is sent the the Federal Reserve where it is destroyed. Along with the $500, $5,000 and $10,000 bills.

A bank cannot order them or give them back to you if somebody cashes one. They are out of circulation. If you want a $1,000 bill they are collectors items and its going to cost you alot more then $1,000 dollars. They go anywhere from $2,500-$8,000 depending on mint.

But the bank will be happy to accomidate what you need to take out in cash. If its over $10,000 dollars you will have to fill out IRS forms to withdraw that much. If you want more then 10K you better warn the bank a few days in advance. They can normally accomidate that. But its nice for them to know.

Good Luck

You can withdraw as much cash as you want from your account, however you will not get denominations over $100. You cannot deposit more that $10,000 in cash without filling out a form which alerts the government about your large deposit.
The reason you will not get denominations over $100 is the $500 and $1000 bills are very rare and sell for double face value...

You can withdraw as much as you have cleared in the account. Why would you want large bills because they are harder to cash, especially in small establishments. Most ATM's are restricted to $500-1000 per day per account.

You should be able to get it all, but for very large amounts you should advise them ahead of time so that they can have the cash available for you, and in the denominations you prefer.

Of course, you have to have that amount in there to withdraw it. There is a limit, $9,999. At $10,000 you must sign some paperwork.
