I have a

2ghz amd 64 processor
1.5 gigs of ram
and a x1600 graphics card

i recently upgraded to vista ultimate and the computer crashes alot. It works smoother then on my Amd x2 1 gig laptop but if i open alot of windows at once it crashes and i have given up using steam on that copmuter at the moment. What could be the problem

Have you also upgraded your drivers? Probably drivers issues.

Well if you upgraded to Vista from XP. You have added thousands of files to the computer registry. However, your old XP registry keys are still using your computer registry. That means that you running your computer with literally hundreds of meg of unnecessary files that your computer needs to search through in order to operate properly. Scan and defrag your registry with a good registry cleaner. This seems to have helped a lot of people.

Try and switch back to XP. Vista is probably too memory happy for your system.

Two things to do add more ram make it 2GB and check if the hard drive has bad tracks on it, that slows down computer very much.

why would you want Vista? check your virtual memory, Also, try to convert vista to XP and see if the problem continues.

do u have any virus and spyware protection?
if not, then download anti virus and anti spyware softwares and run a full scan
