We can't pull out, if we do it will degenerate into total chaos. But your point is well taken, we should never have been there in the first place, it's below sea level.

Iraq is not the same as New Orleans.

New Orleans is not a site where 3,800 of our service members have laid down their lives in the past four years.

New Orleans is an American city, not an oil rich desert.

Rebuilding there is a domestic responsibility. We have no reason to be in Iraq nor waste our time and our money to fix their country. Take care of America first!

We should have been out at least 1 year ago. i remember Florida where so many people lost their business homes, etc and had insurance only the Insurance companies went Bankrupt. These people got nothing nor did they expect any.i worked with three of them.It was just as bad as NO. am sick and tired of NO.That city is full of takers and losers.

It is a quagmire staying there.

First of all, recovering from a hurricane is not an easy thing, especially when 80% of a city that size was underwater. All people seem to want is instant results; that's probably why that FEMA director was fired. Instead of people complaining, perhaps they should go to New Orleans and see firsthand the magnitude of the destruction (although it is probably nowhere near as bad as it was back in 2005). All I'm saying is that I'm sick of people complaining about problems and then they don't do a thing to fix them.

Yes. After all, we're just playing referee in a civil war between contractors and their customers.

from the looks of it, I would say that many have already "cut and run" from New Orleans.
