I have two sets of tires on my car(01 honda civic lx), i have same two of the new ones on front and the same two old ones in the back of the car. The front and back tires have been balanced, and the car felt aligned before the new tires were added on....so my question why does my car pull from side to side, i have hard time braking, and it just feels unusual to drive? is it because of the two sets of different tires, or something else?

Yes they do, I can tell you this from many years of aligning cars. I have had nightmares with them, First you can align the car perfectly, test drive it and it pulls to one side, bring it back to the shop and swap sides with the left front and right front tires and it pulls the other way. I have had to rotate them in all different kinds of ways to get some vehicles to drive straight. Even brand new tires often do this.

Sounds like the car needs a "Four Wheel Alignment"! New tires sometimes are bad, what kind of shape are the older tires in? and also check out what Mike F. is saying

Felt aligned?????

Did you know the total range of toe angle adjustment allowable at each wheel is 1/10th of a degree? How exactly are you going to "feel" if that is off? The fact that your car wanders all over the damn place is an indication it does not fact "fell aligned."

You could have a mechanical problem, or your alignment could be horribly off. Either way, take it in and have it checked out.

I would say take it back to who changed the tires and make sure things are tight, like the lug nuts, you also may have already lost some balance off of one tire, they sometimes come off if not put on right. If not then it sounds like an alignment problem. Best thing is to take it back and have them find the problem.
