I have a sunruner 320 classic twin volvo penta v8 and find that i am constatly having to trim the legs, when running the engines will go to - 4 i will re trim to 0 and it will go back to -4 within a few minuets.
I am a total novice so it may be normal or the engines are just happier in that position any help appretiated

If you are using the old style trim pumps, (has the small black knurled filler plug on the side of the pump) this is a common fault.You will find the relief valves are bypassing. these pumps are supposedly non serviceable. The best option is to change to the later model pump. The later model has a white plastic reservoir on the bottom of the pump. At least with the later model pumps, you can buy service kits for them if needed.

Sounds like the trim switch is not holding the trim. Test the switch or change it if it is available. Check all the wires coming off the switch, test for shorts. Clean all the connections.

Once trimmed they should not move unless you adj them >>??Call the dealer a find out why they do this as maybe it's a feature that you can override>>??

the docs got it right. if it's not simply the bypass valve being open, the best bet is to replace both units. there are excellent after markets to be had from ARCO, Sierra, and others.

there could be a hydraulic leack or a leacking sleave
