How long did it take to mend?

Yes I have and honestly some heartbreaks do not ever mend. One heartbreak in particular, I have never gotten over but it was probably one of the worst things that could happen to a kid. You learn to move on but you never fully heal.

Lots of times, and about the mending time, it depends on who broke it. The longest for me was two years.

Many times, many ways, by various people & circumstances.
Broken heart pain is like no other.
You think you will never get over it.
You do & no one can say how long it will take.
This may sound silly but try it. Set aside x amount of time to grieve or think about it each day, and the rest of the time stay very busy, and don't let yourself think about it, only in your set aside time.Only a suggestion as the pain fades. ~~~Jill

Yes, and I've never felt that it fully mended. I've been functional since then, and have loved again (fairly quickly), but it was more like pieces of glass glued together - together, but not what it once was.
I was six and my family's dog was hit by a car.

Unfortunatley....many times.....but, the one that sticks out the most was my first real romance when I was 17...... I think it took about 2-3 years to mend..... I still think about him and wonder how he is doing.

Yes, many times. It took varying times to heal depending on the level of the relationship; anywhere from a few days to a few years.

it is breaking right now, but not because of anything he has done...I dont know if it will ever mend

Everyday, almost, but not by a lover, necessarily, but mostly from friends who have betrayed me when I had put so much faith in them. I eventually learned how to forget those folks, and continue to live my life. It was easier once my son made his surprising entrance into this world! LOL
