Me and my girlfriend have never had unprotected sex, this month after her last period we only had sex about 5 times at the most. My condoms have never broken on me, because I always check them afterwards. Then, two weeks before her period she started noticing spotting, she immediately freaked out thinkIing that she is pregnant, she has no other symptoms of pregnancy, just spotting. She has been spotting for about 5 days, and its been nothing heavy. Today, 10 days before her period, she took a pregnancy test, it was negative. What are the chances that she is pregnant, they seem really slim to me but she keeps on worrying that she is pregnant.

It is possible... even if you are using condoms but a pregnancy test is very unlikely to show up that early. She needs to wait until her period is due and then take another test.
Some girls simply spot in between periods. And it may not always happen so when it does it may be a bit freaky

No one can say what your chances are, because only you know how well you applied the necessary birth control, and you may not be a good judge of it. I'll say this, though... if you're both young, having sex 5 times in the first 2 weeks of her period is a decent way to get her pregnant.

Here's the thing. If your condoms were good and you were careful, she probably isn't. HOWEVER, to help ease both your minds, why not use at least 2 methods of birth control? Pick any, just make sure one is a condom the way you've been doing (she could get an IUD, use a diaphram, use spermicidal foam, take the pill, use the patch, depoprovera, get the ring). This will help ensure pregnancy doesn't happen, and help her feel calmer. And if foam is the choice, you could even add a third method. Couldn't hurt! Peace of mind is a wonderful thing, hmm?

By the way, my condom-slipped-off baby just left for college today. ;-)

a home pregnancy test will not tell you if you are pregnant until at least 5 days before your missed period..so if she is still 10 days from when she normally starts a home pregnancy test will not read accuratly anyways, Plus if you always are protected when you have sex she is MOST Likely NOT Pregnant. Tell her to stop worrying. and to go see her dr if she is still worried that she might be pregnant but from the info here shes not

It's not too likely. I just went through the same thing. It could be stress related. She should see a doctor about it if she is really worried. I've missed my period 2 months in a row with just some spotting. Not pregnant, doc says I'm too stressed out.

10 days before her period is too early to test, and if she was spotting for 5 days +10 days 'till her period. She was ovulating:)

Your girlfriend needs to take the pregnancy test when she misses her expected period.

She just sounds a little paranoid to me! Why not use 2 forms of birth control, that way you don't have to go through this every month. She should go on to the pill and then you can continue to use condoms. Good luck!
