Which indeed. Hypocrites abound in Washington and GOP gay bashing congressmen who are gay are particularly loathsome. This wasn't an FBI sting but an airport cop, a state employee. I think the FBI would have a whole lot more to worry about than gay come-ons in a public lavatory.

FBI bathroom stings -- the FBI should be investigating and dealing with federal crimes.
Last time I checked, bathroom activity and disorderly conduct matters are purely a matter of state law, and not within the scope or authority of the FBI.

Hard call in my view. As far as I'm concerned, sex between mutually consenting adults is nobody's business (even if I can't fathom why anyone would want to get busy in a public restroom, of all places). Having said that, I have no sympathy for people who spread hate. In my view the most virulent homophobes are often afraid of something within them that they haven't come to terms with.

I just don't think this even approximates humor. Maybe it's the parent in me, but I'm really appalled that something this "public representative" is alleged to have attempted could have been in the presence of children.
(I'm a registered Democrat, and I am a "conservative," in terms of fiscal responsibility and "family values" -- though I don't give a hoot what anyone's sexual orientation is, so long as people love and respect one another.)
