i didnt say favorite though it might be, but doesnt have to be, just one that is really infectious
so give me the one you consider the catchiest of all time then one from the 2000's
and if too many people answer "smells like teen spirit" then just go for something more original

Plug In Baby by Muse. It was 8th in Total Guitar's poll of the Top 100 Riffs. This riff was also mentioned among the best-ever riffs in Q magazine's Rock and Pop Miscellany.
Another is Stockholm Syndrome. It was voted the greatest riff ever by JJJ's Top 100 Riffs of all time, above Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and other iconic riffs. Plug in Baby made the top 20. =) (Also, Knights of Cydonia from Muse was #21 and Supermassive Blackhole #93)

All-time-I would say the one from Sabbath's "Ironman". Is it true that it's the first thing people learn to play on the guitar?
Recently- I would pick the chorus riff from U2's "Beautiful Day". Not too many out there to choose from.
