The guy is a class act all the way.
He gives the most intelligent interviews of any young player I have ever seen. And most of all he loves and cherishes ever moment he's pitching in the big leagues.

You had better believe I do. Now that Mussina is out of the rotation, I am hoping Joba Chamberlain will be a starter. I really love this kid. Joba Chamberlain, I salute you, baby.

Yes, he is one of the best stories of the season. A kid whose father had polio, rising to the major leagues after having many setbacks like growing up in poverty to controlling weight problems. He is 21 years old, and he made the colossal leap from single-A ball to the major leagues in one year. He is of Native American descent, and he changed his name to Joba because that's what his niece could pronounce.
He is a special kid, not only because of his pitching ability, but also because of his character, mental makeup, and resilience.
He will be a great pitcher, regardless of if he stays in the bullpen or becomes a starter, for years and years to come.

I like him, but I wouldn't say he's not cocky. Did you see all the fist-pumping he was doing last night? Probably not a good thing for a rookie to do.
Reminded me of Soriano fist-pumping after a game-tie HR in 2001 WS. They can come back to haunt you.

I'm a Red Sox fan for my life but Joba, Phil, and Matt DeSalvo, these guys freaking rock! They have a lot of potential, yet they're already good. But Rivera (the middle relief one, not Mariano) sucks nuttys.

I like the way he pitches but his fist pumps after he gets an out or ends an inning says otherwise.

plus, how does a rookie strike out magglio ordonez on three pitches?!?! sorry, a bit excited here, but that's just amazing.

Joba is the real deal! If he stays healthy for his entire career and keeps his head on straight, he could end up in Cooperstown. He has incredible stuff!!

Well, I dont want to marry him if thats what you mean...but I am scared of him. He is wicked.
Joel Zumaya is the same way....he pumps his fists when he gets a important batter out. Just ask Derek Jeter. lol.

Joba is great for the Yankees. The Yankees should hold on to him.
