First of all, let me just say that I'm sorry if you are the person you are referring to in your question. My answer to your question is similiar to those who have already responded. You should definetely tell someone. If you are not ready to turn to the police or a family member, then you should tell a close friend or family member who can help you tell others in authority. Please girl, do not let this guy get away with what he has done. People like this ALWAYS continue, until they are caught, or until they find an "all the time" victim, such as a friend's daughter or grandchild. Rapists do not stop. It is up to you to break his cycle of sexual abuse. Trust me, you will feel so much better about yourself and the situation as a whole, if you have people you can talk to. And as far as the threats go, this guy is probably just running his mouth. I look at it like this, you can either live with this for the rest of your life and have this guy out there doing the same thing to someone else's child, or you can speak up and stop what is going on, and most likely has been going on for years. Don't be a prisoner within yourself or inside your home. Live your life and let this guy live his in prison and have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. I hope you make the right decision and may God Bless you!!!

Yes, I would but I may be in a unique situation as my father was a police officer for 26 years and my baby brother has been on the force for almost 20, along with many of his childhood friends who I know as well. Seems to me, if this guy has already raped you, then you really can't trust that he won't harm you or your family even if you don't tell. You could be safer telling the police. I'm sorry for your pain and I hope the future gets better.

I hope this is only a 'what if' question. As soon as you can go to the police!!! Especially if it is someone you know. Do not wash yourself, take all your clothes, if he used a condom try to have the presence of mind to retreive that as well. It is a difficult thing and I can not tell you that I 'know how you feel' or anything like that. All I can say is that 95% of the cops will fly to your aid and get the ball rolling. But we can not do it with out you. and the longer you wait the longer this @$$hole gets to be out there, getting braver and more arrogant and the more victims there will be and soon he will end up killing someone. If this is an actual situation again I stress CONTACT THE POLICE!!

As a male(they can be raped also)I would not half step. the police would get all the information I could give them, I would endure what ever they needed to get that scum off the streets so they could not harm another one.

Yes and tell the police about the threat. That's how rapists get away with their crimes. If they are arrested, they cannot hurt anyone.

Yes as most threaten and most never follow up on that. Besides if he is off the streets you won't have to be concerned.

If he is on the streets, there will just be another victim!

Yes. He obviously needs to be locked up ASAP. I would go to the police immediately and tell them that he also threatened my family.

Yes I would, and I encourage you to report it to a counselor and from there look into making a police report. The sooner the better, and I genuinely hope you can get the help you need and justice.
