I'm 37 and have been experiencing some pain in my lower left abdomen, below the naval and just above my pubic bone. It doesn't hurt when I press it, nor does it hurt when I urinate. It mainly occurs when I lie down on my front or when turning over. It's at it's worst when I'm doing pushups or crunches. It feels like I want to go pee, I think. It's been happening for a couple of months now, but hasn't gotten worse. My periods are regular, although very heavy (always have been), and I am in good health generally. Any ideas?

From what you describe, it sounds like you could be developing a hernia. I say this because it's aggravated with straining, and has not been accompanied by other symptoms (fever, increased urination etc.) that might indicate a urinary tract infection or appendicitis which often present with similar pain. It's also been going on too long to indicate a simple infectious process. With many infectious processes, pain on palpation is not necessary, but often "rebound" pain (hurts when you release the pressure on the spot) is a strong symptom (FYI). If this is not the case, and you have no bowel symptoms (blood or dark stools, constipation etc.) then part of your abdominal wall could be stressed to the point where you may eventually see a bulge there. If that happens, you will need a minor surgery to repair the weakened area. In the meantime, you might want to avoid straining the area (during exercise and when using the toilet), since it might speed up the problem. Hope this helps.
PS- If it does show a bulge at some point, that means part of your intestine is protruding through your abdominal wall, and that is a medical emergency because it can obstruct the function of your digestive system and cause very serious complications.

You may have a hernia. A hernia is a tear in the supporting tissues internally. Sometimes the gut pokes through the hernia and hurts. Sometimes it gets stuck and then you are in big trouble. Hernias can usually be repaired.
It could also be a chronic appendicitis. Sometimes the appendix gets inflamed, and hurts off and on. If it gets infected or badly inflamed it could rupture, that could cause your death. Appendicitis doesn't always hurt when you apply pressure, but it usually hurts worse when you release the pressure suddenly. Chronic appendicitis may be annoyingly painful, but acute appendicitis can kill you if it ruptures.
One other thought, my neice had a cyst on her ovary that hurt off and on, it eventually ruptured, but also ruptured a blood vessel and caused a lot of trouble. It required surgery to save her life. Your pain is trying to tell you that something is wrong, maybe not serious, but something is wrong.

You can have a cyst or tumor affecting your bladder, so it pushes and you feel like peeing. due to the strange body in your system, I am just guessing, there could be a cyst in your uterus that could be pushing your ladder, and that´s why you feel like pee.
Have you had any children? some women experince their bladder going down before and after pregnancy, it is a disease that remains after pregnancy, so pee easily comes out, due to you fallen bladder.

Good luck!

Could be an ovarin cyst. Another explanation could be endometriosis, a condition causing scar tissue to form in your pelvic organs. I'd definitely have it checked out!

Could be nerve related but the only way to know for sure is to have this evaluated by your doctor to see what they think is going on.
