the the literal definition "2. exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc." it doesnt sound possible to exist.

Freedom can always exist, if you're willing to pay the price. You can sever your relationship with society - perhaps by wandering into the wilderness or 'going off the grid' or taking up a life of crime - but the benefits of accepting the limitations society places upon our ultimate individual freedom are enough to keep most of us in.

I don't really think that true freedom ever existed...it's just like a carrot on a stick in front of a donkey. It keeps chasing it not knowing that it can never reach it. But there are things that we can do to get closer to being truly free.

Freedom can only exist if it's fought for. Truth be told, in this country, people have a very convoluted view of what fighting for it is.
