The shape is 3 dimensional and is called a cuboid.
V = 2 x (2000 x 1000) x 7 mm ³
V = 4000 x 7 cm ³
V = 28000 cm ³

Hi,
I think you mean a rectangular sold. Rectangles have areas, not volume. Okay, so
V = l X W X H,
but, you have to adjust the dimensions so that they all have the same units. So, you can adjust the millimeters, the kilometers, or normalize everything to meters.
If 2 kilometers is equal to = 2000 meters, then 2000 meters must be equal to 2,000,000 millimeters, since there are 1000 millimeters in one meter.
That is the beauty of the metric system, everything is in factors of ten.
In case you ever wondered where the idea for the length of the meter came from, the meter was originally defined as 1/10,000,000 of the distance between the North Pole and the Equator on a meridian passing through Paris, France.

First, you have to convert km to mm. 1 km equals 1,000,000 mm. Then you have to apply the formula to find the volume of a rectangular prism, because there is no such thing as the volume of a rectangle. Using this formula, which is V=l(length)w(width)h(height). L x W x H. 2 x 1,000,000 x 7 =14,000,000.

You mean the volume of a rectangular solid(3 dimensional).
You will have to change either mm to km or km to mm. All three measurements must be the same or you will get the wrong answer. You will multiply all three together and label cubic mm or cubic km. depending on which measurement you used.

All the units must be in agreement before you can calculate volume. You will need to convert the 2 km to mm then calculate.
