I received a plant as a gift. It has large, rubbery green leaves with curvy-serrated leaves (oval shaped, pointed at the end) and long-stemmed clusters of small orange flowers. Does anyone know what sort of plant this might be, and possibly some care guidelines?

The photo you put up is of a kalanchoe (sp?). Just let it dry out in between waterings and when you do water, water throughly. Keep it in a sunny spot in the house.
It should keep blooming for you for quite a while.

With the thick rubbery leaves and clusters of orange flowers it sounds like a kalanchoe. here is a picture and growing conditions. They are very long lived, I have one that was destined for destruction over 10 years ago. It still blooms for me each late winter and throughout the summer. Good luck and I hope this helps. http://www.flowersgrowing.com/kalanchoe/

Hard to tell with just a description. It can be lots of different things.

Search "Primula auricula" aka Auricula , it's my best guess without a picture. RScott

kalanchoe, keep it away from cold drafts (doors, windows, and vents) and make sure it gets lots of light...
