No not a waste of money. I always either go see the movie in the theater or I rent before I buy.

I buy DVDs only for the movies I really like and want in my collection. Lately alot of movies out there aren't worth spending the money on so I'll rent them.

Hmmm, I like renting movies. I only buy a movie if I absolutely loveded it. Like Saw 2, that was the shizzit. But I think the crappy thing about buying a dvd is you only watch it like 12 times and then you forget about it.

Good question! I think renting is the way to go! I was buying ones I like, but you know what? I only watch them once, so I guess it is smarter to rent them. Also, storage can be a problem if you have a little house like I do! Another consideration, I bet they will become obsolete the way technology is moving so fast.

That all depends. For me, I do not rent; I buy. And usually, I buy movies that I know I am going to watch more than one. And the ones I buy are mostly horror films-either classic horror films or Asian Extreme horror. You have to ask yourself "Is this a movie I can stand to watch more than once?" That would be a decision making device.

I love to buy, but I ALWAYS rent it or go see it in the theater first. I don't buy any movie I haven't seen and enjoyed.

Usually I rent them- a few we have bought because they are either classics or the sound track was awesome.

I never liked renting because they've been handled by so many different people and that turns me off..........Buying is great IF you intend to view them over and over thru the years...........If you're a movie buff/collector buying is the right way to go..........CAT
