No matter what a candidate says he/she will do, you have to keep in mind our checks and balance system. If a President doesn't have a working Congress, then he may not be in a position to deliver his commitments to the public. I am an Independent and I consider a lot of things before I make up my mind. One thing we desperately need is a bipartisan Congress for the good of all. Democrat or Republican there have been too much politics being played out. I understand politics as well as the next person, but I am also a realist and I will consider the person, that I vote for, to be a strong leader with a sense of direction for all. The items you mention should all be of great concern from the President and the Congress. It's time that as a voter, we all should become active in corresponding with our Congressmen/women on how we personally feel toward certain issues. We need to let Congress know that they have bosses, we the constituents.

Each and every topic that you mentioned. I am a person who not only reads the paper and watches news, but also realize that those two sources are business using propaganda to make the almighty dollar bill. There is a lot of material on line and available from the candidates for you to study and explore. Unfortunately you left out perhaps the most important topic - The War!!!!! In polls it has been proven that the number one topic on peoples mind is the war. It is hard to do but I study and really think beyond the P&R circus what each candidate of about, if the flip flop and they how they have voted on issues that affect us. You mentioned a lot of really important topics and I give you *****stars for that. Good question and one that really requires serious thought!!!

Immigration reform. I do not have anything against forigners, but any available jobs should be granted to those who live here now.

I understand that in the past immigrants came to America, braught alot of talent, made us a diverse country, but there is not need for that now. It is time we close our borders, and attempt to unite the American people as much as possible, there is way too much cultural division in this country which is the root to alot of social disorder. Most importantly though - quit giving jobs to foriegn people! There are too many people who live here already who need jobs lets take care of them first!!!

I'm so far all over the place in my views that no candidate comes close to me. I'm very conservative on Foriegn affairs, liberatarian leaning in many world issues and dometic policies, and pretty liberal in social policy so who is my candidate?

The only issue that closes doors as an absolute for me is the candidates position on the 2nd amendment. Any candidate that wants more gun laws, or to restrict gun ownership in any way other than barring criminals and minors from ownership is out of my consideration.

A proper stance on Constitutional issues. And then I have to see if they are a stark raving religious nut. After that, that person must be a consensus builder.

We have a pretty polarized nation between left and right, and it's not supposed to be this way. Everyone has a belief, but compromise is how politics is supposed to work. If you're always right (and you're not), then you should at least understand that you must represent the nation, not just your narrow sectional interests in your Party's platforms.

What impacts my decision the most is: Who's policies are going to cost the American people the least amount of money, and who endorses getting back to constitutional government. There is only one candidate that guarantees that these issue will be at the forefront of his presidency: Ron Paul
