menstrual bleeding and implantation bleeding?

my periods are normally irregular but for the past 2 months they have came around the same time. i was supposed to start my period august 27 and just a few hours ago i saw a slight pink, and ive been having unpretected sex for about a month now. Can it be implantation bleeding? how can you tell

If it is implantion spotting it will go away and won't get any heavier.
If it is your period it will get heavier and more red.
